Election: Kevin ’07

25 November 2007 by kristarella

Yesterday was Election Day in Australia. The Campaign It was one of the most uncertain elections in my memory. The campaign by the Labor party (formerly the opposition) was strong. Although, I found a lot of it to be misleading. All of the television adverts I saw misrepresented our government system. They seemed to summarise […]

Humans play fair

7 October 2007 by kristarella

Traditional models of economic decision-making assume that people are self-interested rational maximizers. Empirical research has demonstrated, however, that people will take into account the interests of others and are sensitive to norms of cooperation and fairness. In one of the most robust tests of this finding, the ultimatum game, individuals will reject a proposed division […]

Meteorite Illness

19 September 2007 by kristarella

This story struck me as very strange. Something from a Sci-fi show… Many people are sick after visiting a possible meteor crater. Apparently the meteor hitting the earth can release nasty gases (from meteor chemicals reacting with something in the earth). A good reason to live under a rock

6 July 2007 by kristarella

Precognitive?

9 June 2007 by kristarella

Check out my previous post. I know most of it is about the trains but there are other things that happen like flooded schools (all the drainage gets blocked up and then it rains), leaking shopping centre (our local Westfield was built in a time of drought), flooded roads. I’ve never been outside in weather […]

Rain, rain, go away, come again another day

7 June 2007 by kristarella

For a country that spends much of its time in drought rain is almost like a natural disaster. “The next train on platform 1 stops at Turramurra, Pymple, Gordon… The next train on platform 1 stops at Normanhurst, Thornleigh, Pennant Hills… Customers waiting for the North Shore express service, this train is now departing from […]

Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Title Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Titles! I was a sub for @jamesxuereb.me in the Blue Flame Dragons thanks to his sprained ankle; we won first round and came fourth overall!
I did a bunch of judging and officiating, which was really good.
I didn’t place in my individual events, but had a very fun final round of kumite (sparring).
