18 Image editors and creators for Mac OS X

25 May 2008 by kristarella

I found myself wanting to make a quick sketch to get an idea out of my mind, while I got on with something else. I could have gone and got my Moleskine, but it’s nearly full and I didn’t want to start a new project in there. I could have opened up GIMP, but it’s […]

Vienna & NetNewsWire

8 April 2008 by kristarella

Switching from Vienna to NetNewsWire For the last year I’ve been a faithful Vienna user for reading RSS feeds on my mac. It’s a fantastic program: very intuitive, open source and full featured (including tabbed browser, skins for reading feeds, good search tool and AppleScript support). Recently I decided to try NetNewsWire. Now free, but […]

Meet the GIMP demonstrates Ufraw

23 March 2008 by kristarella

I previously posted about Ufraw and its user guide, which I found to be quite unfriendly on the website. I created an easier-on-the-eyes pdf version. Unfortunately it didn’t help, I still didn’t understand at all how this tool was supposed to work. I found it rather discouraging. After shooting in RAW for one day in […]

GIMP Intro

8 March 2008 by kristarella

LaurenMarie, owner of Creative Curio, kindly asked me to write a post for her blog about GIMP, which has been published today. This GIMP introduction is really just an overview of some of the tools, which I’ll be expanding on in the weeks to come. 😀

Google Calendar Sync

7 March 2008 by kristarella

You may know that I’ve been searching for a free solution to syncing my desktop and Google calendars for a while. I wrote a post, which included some not-so-free options. After that I ended up paying for gSync. It had a few hiccups, but seems to be working. Now Google has announced their own Google […]

To-do Software

19 January 2008 by kristarella

A while ago I downloaded iGTD. I used it to put aside the things I’d rather be doing than studying for exams, so I could do them in the holidays. I also wanted to get used to the software before I started my rather busy year this year, in the hope that I might feel […]

Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Title Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Titles! I was a sub for @jamesxuereb.me in the Blue Flame Dragons thanks to his sprained ankle; we won first round and came fourth overall!
I did a bunch of judging and officiating, which was really good.
I didn’t place in my individual events, but had a very fun final round of kumite (sparring).
