Nokia 6020

12 July 2007 by kristarella

Apart from not receiving calls and messages, I went to a meeting at a friend’s place and forgot which unit in the security block they lived in. I stood outside for 15 minutes, buzzing units and even borrowing a man’s phone to […]

Bacterial DNA transplant

1 July 2007 by kristarella

This article reported that the Venter Institute managed to transplant the genome of one species of bacteria into another. The recipient bacteria appeared to become the donor, but they’re not sure quite how it got rid of the recipient’s original DNA. Venter said that they’re not reporting on synthetic life, but this could be a […]

Speed up an mp3

28 June 2007 by kristarella

While studying for exams I’ve found it really useful to listen to the recordings that are made of our university lectures. They make the lectures available to download as mp3s for students enrolled in the course. Very handy, especially for the lectures I wasn’t able to get to; it’s quite difficult to learn anything if […]

Feed Reading

23 June 2007 by kristarella

Yesterday I culled the feeds that I’m subscribed to. I just couldn’t stand (any longer) how new posts were building up and I wasn’t reading them. Many of you won’t even notice that I’m not reading your blog through Vienna anymore because even when I was subscribed I don’t know that I was reading your […]

Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Title Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Titles! I was a sub for @jamesxuereb.me in the Blue Flame Dragons thanks to his sprained ankle; we won first round and came fourth overall!
I did a bunch of judging and officiating, which was really good.
I didn’t place in my individual events, but had a very fun final round of kumite (sparring).
