Power out

2 January 2006 by kristarella

We had our first power out (while we’ve been home) last night. We were in the middle of watching the movie Matchstick Men — sort of towards the end %mdash; when all of a sudden the TV and all the lights switched off. It was extremely dark, even the street lights were out; at times […]

27 December 2005 by kristarella

They come out and dominate the internet with their cute animations and everyone thinks it’s great. They go around and send their e-cards and make […]

Vomit

25 December 2005 by kristarella

That bug that half the kids and leaders had, I got it. On Christmas Eve of all nights. We had turkey dinner at my father-in-law’s and by 8:30pm I was green and felt awful. 9pm I threw up all of my dinner and kept doing that until 2:30am. These kind of bugs suck! I missed […]

Waves and Wind

24 December 2005 by kristarella

Yesterday we got back from leading on Sailing camp, officially named Waves and Wind. It pretty much involves looking after ~50 10–12-year-olds; doing activities like sailing, games, putt putt golfing, bible studies and singing. I am pretty tired. I just slept from about 5pm last night to 7:30am this morning. The last night of camp […]

under the weather

14 December 2005 by kristarella

I’m feeling a little under the weather this morning; I wonder if it’s from being under the sun yesterday. I went to the beach with my friend and the weather was perfect. I love Australian beaches – not that I’ve been to any others, but I’ve seen photos of some that are just not as […]

Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Title Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Titles! I was a sub for @jamesxuereb.me in the Blue Flame Dragons thanks to his sprained ankle; we won first round and came fourth overall!
I did a bunch of judging and officiating, which was really good.
I didn’t place in my individual events, but had a very fun final round of kumite (sparring).
