Power out

2 January 2006 by kristarella

We had our first power out (while we’ve been home) last night. We were in the middle of watching the movie Matchstick Men — sort of towards the end %mdash; when all of a sudden the TV and all the lights switched off. It was extremely dark, even the street lights were out; at times like this you realise you have no decent torch. My husband found his little keyring torch and we found matches and candles. We even went for an evening stroll to see how far the power was out. The power came back on and we started watching the movie again. With no more than five minutes ’til the end, the power went out again. The end of the movie, which we watched this morning, was quite cute.

We were supposed to go to my parents for lunch, but the freeway has been closed because of bushfires. It seems that it would have been fine to go, but we didn’t know that this morning and we didn’t want to get stuck up there if the fires raged on.

We saw Narnia this afternoon. I liked it, excellent soundtrack and quite true to the book.
