WWDC design awards

13 June 2007 by kristarella

Hubby entered Marco Polo in the WWDC design awards. He didn’t win. 🙁 I was checking out the winner and the runner up of the student section. They’re okay, I’m not sure how the judges would have chosen the winners. Pictureque was the winner. It is a nice program, the user interface is attractive and […]

Word up

5 June 2007 by kristarella

Just reading through some of the headlines recently. I generally don’t pay much attention to news, a mixture of not listening to the radio, not watching free-to-air TV and being too slow a reader to want to buy a paper. Some random things that caught my attention though: Watson’s DNA sequenced: It’s pretty impressive that […]

Tuesday+Mac

8 May 2007 by kristarella

In Proteins this week I wound up with 44g of protein instead of 5. The good news is: I found where I went wrong in the calculations, I was an order of magnitude (10x) out on one thing. The bad news is: I suck! After bagging out a company for not being able to do […]

Thursday Thirteen #47

3 May 2007 by kristarella

Thirteen of my top mac programs. 1. Camino – this is the web browser I use so I suppose it’s one of the programs I use more than any other. Hehe, it’s okay to use something other than Firefox (as long as they make an effort to be compliant). 2. Smultron – beautiful text editor, […]

21 April 2007 by kristarella

Hubby keeps a bunch of old Scientific Americans next to the loo. I don’t mind them being there, I don’t really read them in depth but they’re pretty interesting. A page just happened to be open on an article about Alcoholism, which I haven’t actually read because my brain is tired, but it does have […]

Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Title Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Titles! I was a sub for @jamesxuereb.me in the Blue Flame Dragons thanks to his sprained ankle; we won first round and came fourth overall!
I did a bunch of judging and officiating, which was really good.
I didn’t place in my individual events, but had a very fun final round of kumite (sparring).
