Where are the widgets?

13 November 2006 by kristarella

Apparently something that Gnome doesn’t do well is desktop widgets. Yahoo has some pretty swanky ones for Windows, Apple has some extremely cool ones for Mac OSX but where are the Linux ones? I do have something called gDesklets (I include the link but it’s pretty futile because the site is so full of errors […]

Google Reader is better than ever!

30 October 2006 by kristarella

Thanks to Clifton, I went and had a look at Google Reader today. If you’ve been reading for a while then you’ll know that I’ve said a bit about Google Reader before. I liked it because I could read posts individually and mark them as read when I’d actually read them. I didn’t like it […]

Ubuntu

29 October 2006 by kristarella

On Friday the new versions of Ubuntu and their related projects came out. So on Saturday Hubby and I went to task updating to Edgy Eft, but instead of installing Kubuntu we decided this time to go for Ubuntu. The main difference as far as I’m concerned is that Ubuntu uses the Gnome desktop environment […]

I tried a different anti-spam thing, which I thought was working but actually I can’t get comments at all. I […]

11 September 2006 by kristarella

I was searching the MozillaZine support forums for a way to import files into Thunderbird straight from their folders rather than from a program since I no longer have the files in the program. I used MozBackup to back them up but the software doesn’t run on Linux 🙁 After no luck at the forum […]

Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Title Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Titles! I was a sub for @jamesxuereb.me in the Blue Flame Dragons thanks to his sprained ankle; we won first round and came fourth overall!
I did a bunch of judging and officiating, which was really good.
I didn’t place in my individual events, but had a very fun final round of kumite (sparring).
