26 February 2008 by kristarella

My husband is just getting on the same plane I caught a week ago to come home. He’s been packing, returning the rental car, eating dinner at the airport and chatting to me via Google Talk. I’ve been chatting to him while upgrading my blog and organising photos to show you. I took a little […]

The allure of Starbucks

15 February 2008 by kristarella

Starbucks isn’t quite as popular in Australia as it is in America. Possibly because there aren’t as many of them, but I think it’s because you can find good and/or better coffee at lots of places. I haven’t had too many non-Starbucks coffees in America. One was at the restaurant we went to for our […]

Touchdown in San Francisco!

7 February 2008 by kristarella

We arrived in San Francisco at about 10:30am Wednesday morning. We had our photographs and fingerprints taken at customs, got picked up by a town car and headed to Mountain View. Our apartment wasn’t going to be ready until 4 and neither were our keys, which we found out when we tried to pick them […]

Birds’ sense of direction

2 February 2008 by kristarella

1 February 2008 by kristarella

It might sound like a silly question, but you see Australia has a 10% GST, which is on most non-essential items and a few essential ones too. Sometimes the sales receipt tells […]

Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Title Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Titles! I was a sub for @jamesxuereb.me in the Blue Flame Dragons thanks to his sprained ankle; we won first round and came fourth overall!
I did a bunch of judging and officiating, which was really good.
I didn’t place in my individual events, but had a very fun final round of kumite (sparring).
