Marco Polo

2 March 2007 by kristarella

I’ve been using a nice little piece of software called Marco Polo. It’s purpose is to detect which network you are connected to and automatically switch you to it. It can do this according to the IP address that you are assigned or by detecting the usb devices that you have plugged in. This software […]

Random computer stuff

21 February 2007 by kristarella

I have raved about Inkscape and GIMP before, I think they’re great graphics programs. Expensive programs might be better but for saving $300 or however much they cost, these programs are excellent. Switching to the Mac versions wasn’t entirely satisfactory. They run under X11, which doesn’t use the apple key and has a click-to-focus action […]

‘Tis good

20 February 2007 by kristarella

Love me a nice piece of raisin toast in the morning. Yesterday I bought “cafe style” raisin toast, the slices are fat. It’s seriously good. You only need one slice because it’s probably equivalent to two (which my “diet” allows by the way), it still fits in the toaster (just), it doesn’t get overcooked like […]

Unbelievable

19 February 2007 by kristarella

Since Foo mentioned that the background doesn’t show up on the single post pages (i.e. the gradient/flat colour doesn’t show and you get patterned background on the whole page) I’ve been trying to find the problem. It seems that different combinations of operating systems and browsers are doing different things. Mac OS X Firefox and […]

Just great

19 February 2007 by kristarella

Some thing have been good recently and some things have been just great. You can hear that sarcasm right? I thought I broke my toe at karate on Friday night. This ended up not being so bad because it’s already feeling a fair bit better maybe it wasn’t really broken. It turns out that some […]

Spanning Sync

17 February 2007 by kristarella

This is cool! Spanning Sync can syncronise all your calendars on your Mac and Google Calendar. You don’t have to subscribe to your Google Calendar, now you can have two individual calendars (one on Google and on on iCal) and syncronise them when you want. We started by deleting our subscribed calendars on iCal (because […]

Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Title Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Titles! I was a sub for @jamesxuereb.me in the Blue Flame Dragons thanks to his sprained ankle; we won first round and came fourth overall!
I did a bunch of judging and officiating, which was really good.
I didn’t place in my individual events, but had a very fun final round of kumite (sparring).
