Tuesday+Mac

8 May 2007 by kristarella

In Proteins this week I wound up with 44g of protein instead of 5. The good news is: I found where I went wrong in the calculations, I was an order of magnitude (10x) out on one thing. The bad news is: I suck! After bagging out a company for not being able to do […]

3 May 2007 by kristarella

Charts and graphs on Mac

5 April 2007 by kristarella

I had some data from a lab that wanted to graph with two different y-axes. It’s not too difficult an idea to picture in your head, you see the data had incredibly different scales (a maximum of 70 vs. 5), but I don’t know if Excel can do it. Since I was using NeoOffice, not […]

It can do this according to the IP address that you are assigned or by detecting the usb devices that you have plugged in. This software […]

Random computer stuff

21 February 2007 by kristarella

I have raved about Inkscape and GIMP before, I think they’re great graphics programs. Expensive programs might be better but for saving $300 or however much they cost, these programs are excellent. Switching to the Mac versions wasn’t entirely satisfactory. They run under X11, which doesn’t use the apple key and has a click-to-focus action […]

Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Title Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Titles! I was a sub for @jamesxuereb.me in the Blue Flame Dragons thanks to his sprained ankle; we won first round and came fourth overall!
I did a bunch of judging and officiating, which was really good.
I didn’t place in my individual events, but had a very fun final round of kumite (sparring).
