Wallpaper feature on Smashing Magazine

31 March 2008 by kristarella

I was very excited when I heard that my wallpaper would be featured on Smashing Magazine’s April Calendar Wallpaper post! I decided to contain my excitement until the post came out and I could point you to it. There’s some great stuff there. Very cool idea to incorporate a calendar into a wallpaper: it’s practical […]

Top GIMP tutorial sites

24 March 2008 by kristarella

After some discussion at Creative Curio I was starting to think that building a site similar to PSDTuts for GIMP tutorials would be cool. I haven’t seen much in the way of GIMP tutorial sites that I really like; except for Meet the GIMP, but video tutorials are different in my mind. Before I go […]

Meet the GIMP demonstrates Ufraw

23 March 2008 by kristarella

I previously posted about Ufraw and its user guide, which I found to be quite unfriendly on the website. I created an easier-on-the-eyes pdf version. Unfortunately it didn’t help, I still didn’t understand at all how this tool was supposed to work. I found it rather discouraging. After shooting in RAW for one day in […]

Photo Noir with GIMP

20 March 2008 by kristarella

Fun with fireworks in GIMP

12 March 2008 by kristarella

Demonstrating the program layout and hopefully a taste of how powerful this software can be. Rather than following step-by-step, I hope […]

GIMP Intro

8 March 2008 by kristarella

LaurenMarie, owner of Creative Curio, kindly asked me to write a post for her blog about GIMP, which has been published today. This GIMP introduction is really just an overview of some of the tools, which I’ll be expanding on in the weeks to come. 😀

Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Title Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Titles! I was a sub for @jamesxuereb.me in the Blue Flame Dragons thanks to his sprained ankle; we won first round and came fourth overall!
I did a bunch of judging and officiating, which was really good.
I didn’t place in my individual events, but had a very fun final round of kumite (sparring).
