Thursday Thirteen #34

16 November 2006 by kristarella

Before I do this, might I just say, thank goodness for over-the-counter pharmaceuticals! I didn’t think I was going to make it through the day. Now I apparently look like I’m going to collapse but I feel much better. Thirteen things I lurve about Firefox. 1. Tabbed browsing – Okay, I know that Safari, Camino […]

The sky is falling!

15 November 2006 by kristarella

Today is so wrong. Everything feels wrong. In some parts of the state we have bush fires, in others we have snow. ForecastFox told me it was supposed to be 16 degrees Celsius today but I’m sure it was above that when I left the house at 8am. At the moment however, it’s cloudy and […]

Grip it

15 November 2006 by kristarella

I gave up on Sound Juicer. Despite it’s funky logo and the ease and accuracy with which it detected the CD information, I eventually got it to rip songs so that Rhythmbox could import them but the files didn’t have the ID3 data (title, artist etc). So I used Grip. Grip is highly customisable and […]

I bought a couple of CDs today, Recurring Dream: The Best of Crowded House and She Will Have Her Way: The Songs of Tim & Neil Finn. I was hoping to get the 2 disc set of She Will Have Her Way because it has the female artists singing the Finns’ songs on the first […]

Where are the widgets?

13 November 2006 by kristarella

Apparently something that Gnome doesn’t do well is desktop widgets. Yahoo has some pretty swanky ones for Windows, Apple has some extremely cool ones for Mac OSX but where are the Linux ones? I do have something called gDesklets (I include the link but it’s pretty futile because the site is so full of errors […]

Bleugh

12 November 2006 by kristarella

I was quite proud of myself for not getting any viruses for many months. I had a whole lot of other pains but nothing that could bring me down too far. Now I’m getting sick, caught from hubby no doubt. It doesn’t feel good, the thick dry throat, runny nose (which thankfully isn’t bad right […]

Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Title Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Titles! I was a sub for @jamesxuereb.me in the Blue Flame Dragons thanks to his sprained ankle; we won first round and came fourth overall!
I did a bunch of judging and officiating, which was really good.
I didn’t place in my individual events, but had a very fun final round of kumite (sparring).
