Who knew a blog anniversary could be so exciting?!

prize bucket

Would you call one year of blogging an anniversary or a birthday for you blog? I guess it doesn’t really matter in light of what David Airey is doing on his blog! He is having an absolutely fantastic competition for the one year ‘anniversary’ of his graphic and logo design blog!

I discovered his blog via my WP stats, because he’d found a post I wrote about the similar and related posts plugins and linked to it. Not only does he write about design, but also blog design, blogging with WordPress and more. I’ve been subscribed ever since!

Some of the prizes that caught my eye include:

  • In first prize, a logo from David Airey
  • In second prize, a one hour SEO consultation
  • Also in second prize, $60 of books from Amazon from Problogger Darren Rowse
  • $25 in your Paypal account from Gayla McCord of Mom Gadget
  • 2GB USB key from Jamie Clague at Terinea Weblog (I’d love this one since my 64MB key was stolen along with heaps of other stuff from my bag last semester)
  • Books from David the Designer

Would you believe there’s more?!

I think the donation of all these things for the celebration of David’s blog is a tribute to the kind of blogger he is. Even though this whole competition is a link-back, page rank dream I think it’d be great to support David in his logo design work – whether I win or not!

Kristarella, this is very kind of you! Thanks so much. I have my work cut out with the administration, but it’s the least I can do to give back to the people who’ve made my blog the joy it is to write.

Lots and lots of kudos to the sponsors too!

Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Title Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Titles! I was a sub for @jamesxuereb.me in the Blue Flame Dragons thanks to his sprained ankle; we won first round and came fourth overall!
I did a bunch of judging and officiating, which was really good.
I didn’t place in my individual events, but had a very fun final round of kumite (sparring).
