Not so big 21

11 April 2007 by kristarella

south park krisoSo, yesterday was my 21st birthday. I’m not really sure what to say about it. It was a non-event, moderately disappointing, it’s lucky that I was looking forward to my party on Saturday and not the actual day of my birthday.

I suppose it was partly my fault because I forgot to do my Proteins report that was due yesterday so I spent the whole day doing it. It was due last week but they gave us an extension. I spent heaps of time working on it last week, but it was a lot of time on a small part and when Easter came around I forgot about the rest.

I did go out for lunch with my best friend, which was nice. She gave me Peter Alexander pyjamas. 😀

The phones went crazy, I got messages from people and calls from a couple of people. Actually most of the phone craziness came from the phone cradle not being plugged in properly so the phone didn’t think it was cradled and I’d pick up the phone and say “Hello.” and the phone would ring in my face.

We had a bible study social in the evening, we ate dinner together and played Wii and Billionaire. It was nice, but I think I would have preferred it not be my birthday, then I wouldn’t have had that overhanging disappointment.

When the day that everyone makes out to be so great was nearly over and I felt forgotten I realised I hadn’t checked the mail. Mum told me to in the morning but I didn’t rush out and do it then because the postman wouldn’t have come yet. I thought hubby would get the mail when he got home from uni, but he didn’t. So I went out in my pyjamas (not my new ones, I’m saving then for when I change the sheets on the bed), and collected the biggest wad of mail we’ve had in a while, maybe ever. It included six birthday cards. Thanks for remembering. 🙂

Today I feel sick, my nose keeps running and my tummy, back and legs hurt. It’s a bit random, I’m not going in to work.
Party on Saturday, hope it’s fun…

Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Title Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Titles! I was a sub for @jamesxuereb.me in the Blue Flame Dragons thanks to his sprained ankle; we won first round and came fourth overall!
I did a bunch of judging and officiating, which was really good.
I didn’t place in my individual events, but had a very fun final round of kumite (sparring).
