Read the instructions

27 February 2007 by kristarella

I thought I was prepared yesterday for certain things to go wrong. I was prepared to not have any friends at uni and I left myself heaps of time in case transport was bad… all those things were fine, I had company and transport was okay. Other things started falling down around me and by the time I got home I was so tired and annoyed. I can’t even remember what they all were now, my computer not sleeping properly and getting too hot inside my bag, the rain, my hip hurting, coming home (after dropping hubby at karate) I got stuck in the wrong lane because traffic was queued right across the intersection so I had to turn the wrong way.

Before going to karate I started what would be a ten minute job – updating WordPress for this blog. I didn’t read the instructions because it seemed to me that they’re always the same. Of course they weren’t and it broke my blog. It turns out I was supposed to delete the WordPress files and upload them fresh. It took a long time to delete the files and as if the first upload hadn’t taken long enough… I had to leave it running when I went out to karate. Upon uploading the files all the permissions were deleted and it took me about and hour and a half to add permissions to all of the files. I did it in as big bunches as I could but it still took ages. I don’t think I’ll be rushing to upgrade next time. Or I could just read the instructions!

I did a bunch of judging and officiating, which was really good.
I didn’t place in my individual events, but had a very fun final round of kumite (sparring).
