What is this, the holidays?

2 January 2007 by kristarella

It seems everyone, like myself, has extended their holiday at least one more day.

I decided it would be more productive for me to stay home today and work on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday because so one was there yesterday to digest the samples for DNA extraction. I also wanted to see the first episode of JAG season 9, it was the fourth of a 4 part story line. It didn’t really end to my liking but as always, there is more to come. They’ve been playing on the sexual tension (turned love) between Mac and Harm for eight years. They’ve introduced new potential love interests for both of them though so it seems they’re going to play it a bit longer. Maybe it’ll happen in season 10, the last season.

The other reason I thought I might stay home was that hubby was getting his ear checked to see if it was better. It’s nearly there. I wanted to check the lumps behind my ears – heh, it was pretty funny, someone find this site by searching “rash behind ears”. We had to wait for about an hour after the receptionist said about 15 minutes. I nearly spat the dummy when about five people were called in that came in after us. Then I went and bought some coffees, I love a nice cappuccino! Apparently behind the ears is a common place for eczema but I don’t have that; maybe some kind of dermatitis so I just have to use cream for three days. I hope it goes away, the doc said if not I might need antibiotics; I don’t really like taking them.

I tried to call Eastern Creek to book a date for my Driver Training. I got a voucher from hubby’s grandmother for Christmas to go do a one day defensive driving course. It is a reflection on my driving but I’m comforted that both my husband and his brother have done similar courses, so I can’t be too offended. They have an answering machine saying that they’re not there but you’re not allowed to leave a message so please call back later. It’s fairly annoying because today isn’t a holiday and the day I want to go on is next Friday. They only have four people per instructor but I don’t know how many instructors there are, they potentially only have four people on one day so I want to book it already.

I checked my payment info on line with the bank and the uni. The time sheet I put in about three weeks ago hasn’t shown up yet and I don’t know when the pay weeks for this year are because the uni hasn’t updated the calendar on the website yet.

Thank goodness I was able to enrol in Microbial Genetics! For the past month I wasn’t able to enrol because they had an option for tutorials but no times to choose and the system doesn’t let you enrol until you’ve chosen the times for all your classes (lectures, lab and tutorial). They seem to have removed the tutorial option now so I was able to enrol. A bit of relief to my stressful morning; I hate when I make the effort to be organised and I’m prevented from organising.
