I made Veal Cordon Bleu the other night. It had never occurred to me to try this before, I didn’t want regular veal schnitzel and I didn’t want to get take away. I realised I had veal and ham and cheese – perfect! I cut the veal steaks in half, put a slice of ham and one of cheese on one side and pressed the two sides together. Then I coated in flour with a little pepper and salt, beaten egg with a little milk and breadcrumbs. I cooked them in the electric frying pan and they were good! I was a bit concerned that because I didn’t trim the sides of the steak so that they were the same shape the cheese would leak out. The veal didn’t take too long to cook though and most of the cheese remained.

Australia won the Ashes against England! The Ashes is 5 cricket test matches and Australia won all five. England won by a hair’s breath last time and this time we completely whitewashed them. It was kind of impressive.

Today is Mel’s last day at work. I felt fine about it until we went to lunch. Then it seemed like no one would be in the lab. Darren is leaving in about a month. Sean is starting at the Children’s Hospital sometime soon. Yvonne will still be here, which will make things bearable but she can’t protect me from the boss who I’m concerned is going to want me to do things that I just don’t have time for. Still, he tends to claim he’s going to do something for months, maybe years, before he does it, so if he says he has a job for me he might not ever give me the details. So perhaps it won’t be bad. Anyway, it’s a bit sad that everyone is leaving the lab. I hope I get to see Mel and her baby moderately often.

Do I get my hair cut short or just styled at it’s current length? At the moment I think it’s below my shoulders, previously I’ve had it cut to about chin length. I’ve showed photos on here before. I’d appreciate an opinion, especially if you’ve met me before. My hair has lost all its style since its last cut, I need to get it done one way or another. 🙂

I feel like I haven’t seen you in ages which is not true but I cannot remember at all what your hair is like at the moment – which could make me a lousy friend that I didn’t notice or it could mean I am an okay friend because I don’t care about people’s haircuts! – but I do remember that when you had it cut short one time it looked really cool. When I see you I will decide which I like the most and let you know! I have to grow mine because I know if I cut it really short like I am tempted to do, I might regret not having anything to work with at the wedding. It’s annoying though, I wish I could just chop it all off to boy shortness and then decide if I like it that way for the wedding and change back immediately if I don’t. Stupid hair.

      Thanks Tina!
      Happy New Year to you!
Glad you like the template. I spent a fair bit of time trying to get it compliant (there’s some links that don’t validate though 🙁 ) and just right. Although I’ve been thinking the background might be a bit too dark for the text.
Thanks for coming by, your lovely comment was very nice to wake up to.

I did a bunch of judging and officiating, which was really good.
I didn’t place in my individual events, but had a very fun final round of kumite (sparring).
