Rippa!

13 December 2006 by kristarella

Things seem to be working out this week. Yesterday, while still busy at work, was a good day. Today, despite it being very humid and gross, seems like it will be productive. Already hubby and I have watched an episode of JAG on the train, I have spoken to my mother-in-law and we’re doing afternoon tea on Christmas eve. That makes the whole “immediate” family we’ll be seeing over Christmas Eve and Day. On a side note, is it still immediate family when you get married, do parents and siblings move over for your spouse and children to become your immediate family?

The only questions remaining now are how long will we stay at my parents’ place after Christmas lunch and what and I going to make for afternoon tea? I might make pizza pinwheels, buy a tart from my favourite patisserie, I could also bake a cake and make salmon and cream cheese things if I think there’ll be enough people to eat it all. Well, I guess there are other questions like: What am I going to get my friends for Christmas? Why is the sky blue? Why are some people so evil? Why is it so difficult to take care of my cuticles? I only know the answer to one of those.

Gah, I just realised I left something rather important at home. I hope I don’t need it before I get home.

I took some photos at bible study last night. They’re of the people in my group and the Christmas tree at my friends’ place. They have a really pretty tree so I got everyone to stand in front of the tree and then as soon as the flash went off run out of the picture. The shutter stayed open a while after giving a photo of transparent people and the Christmas tree. It was totally cool! I can’t wait to do something with them – post them on my photoblog, crop them, they don’t need much editing because they’re so crazy already. Hehe, I’m glad I got to put my fancy camera to good use. 😀

Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Title Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Titles! I was a sub for @jamesxuereb.me in the Blue Flame Dragons thanks to his sprained ankle; we won first round and came fourth overall!
I did a bunch of judging and officiating, which was really good.
I didn’t place in my individual events, but had a very fun final round of kumite (sparring).
