Friday report

1 December 2006 by kristarella

There’s a haze over Sydney this morning with the smell of bushfires in the air. There have been several forecasts for today reporting high temps of 30-35 degrees. Thankfully it wasn’t nearly that warm on my way into work today.

Dinner last night was good. Thanks for your well wishes. We shared a margarita pizza, Devil’s Delight pancakes (chocolate pancakes with chocolate ice cream, chocolate sauce, cream, and strawberries and Bananarama pancakes (buttermilk pancakes with ice cream, cream, butterscotch sauce and bananas). Very yummy! I maintained my reputation as the local wino by ordering a Heineken when they ordered water and Coke. Not necessarily a deserved reputation might I add, I’m sure they’ve both been a lot more drunk and possibly more often than I ever have.

I took some photos before and after dinner. I’ll post some on my photoblog but I think they’ll need some tweaking. Most are not very exciting because the sky was grey so things look washed out and then when it got dark I didn’t have a tripod so the lights are fairly blurry. One day I’ll go on a good photo shooting excursion with my tripod.

I got an excellent night of sleep last night. I’m still tired today but I feel somewhat refreshed. I’m looking forward to sleep again tonight though.

As I alluded to earlier, I’m doing an extra day of work today. There was a lot of genotyping to do since we have new breeds of mice that require two or three different tests on the same samples.

I didn’t feel like breakfast this morning and decided I’d rather spend the time leisurely getting ready than trying to squeeze in a brekkie I didn’t really want. I’m pretty hungry now though, lucky it’s nearly morning tea time.

This weekend is going to be busy! I have to pick up my dress from the dry cleaner’s to wear to an engagement party at 7.30pm, which is preceded by a 21st party at Hornsby Bowls. On Sunday hubby is on band at church but I am not and after church we’re having dinner at his dad’s. The in between times will be spent eating, sleeping, possibly cleaning but I’m not sure about that one yet. 😛

I did a bunch of judging and officiating, which was really good.
I didn’t place in my individual events, but had a very fun final round of kumite (sparring).
