Wow! After a lot of phaffing around I finally have my new photoblog up and running! It’s still at the same address as the old one.
Pixelpost is totally good! While it does some things manually that WordPress did automatically it does other things, photoblogging things automatically and nicely. It gets the exif data from the photos, it generates thumbnails which you can manually crop however you like, it uses quite simple template files and generates is own php.
I’ve made a new template which I like. I don’t think there’s any kind of auto-transfer of posts so it took me a couple of days to upload my photos. I would have had to do that anyway I suppose since they were on a different server.
I was going to try out Yet Another Photoblog plugin for WP. I couldn’t get it workin though. I don’t know what I broke but I probably would have upload all my photos again so I figured while I was doing that I might just try a different program. Pixelpost was recommended to me by Novelist in Training. I also searched through the Photoblogs.org software list and liked the look of this one the best.
I’m pretty tired :tired: of looking at the computer now so I’m going to go and do something else. Apologies to those Thursday Thirteeners I haven’t visited yet. I’ll try to get there! Any feedback on my new photoblog would be appreciated.

Nice template on the Phlog…hehe, i used the new term 😛
But personally, I prefer the old template…because this one is a little plain. The menu on the old one was good…and the colour header was good. If you were to put the menu on this new template, I think it would still work quite well. 🙂
Neat!
Just came through from Recommended ..
I love photo blogs, I admit I wasn’t too fond of them to start with .. but it’s grown on me in a good way.
You sure have some beautiful photos, it’s almost a pitty you don’t use them in layouts.
Thankyou. I will surely think about using some photos in layouts 🙂
As you probably figured out by the comments, I stopped by the phlog and it looks great! Oh, and I strongly prefer simple templates for photoblogs–especially ones with black backgrounds like yours. Colorful, fancy templates tend to detract too much from the pictures.
Pixelpost seems pretty cool. I have flikr which is pretty good considering I don’t upload alot of pictures a month. I may check it out though as it may be nice to have the same template as my blog.
