What a weekend!

8 July 2006 by kristarella

Friday was pretty cool. I slept in and then I drove up to my parent’s place. It’s about 80km away but it takes less than an hour. It was a good drive up and back, the sun was shining and the traffic was pretty light in the middle of the day. I retrieved many of my photos in albums and ones I printed in photography class at school. I’m a bit excited about having those school ones back. I’ll be posting them on my photoblog for a bit. It was good to see Mum for a bit. Shame it was so short a visit.

Friday night was a girls’ movie night that I wanted to go to but I was freaking out a bit because I hadn’t done as much exercise as I wanted this week and we had a HUGE pile of dishes by the sink. Seriously, a couple of the bowls had fungus. I think the sink was stinky too so I put the household rescuer, Drano, down there. I was a bit disappointed with karate because it was really tough for the first 20-30 mins. Then we didn’t even stretch, my legs felt like they were going to burn away! Then we were doing all this self defense stuff, so that involved listening to what to do, trying it out, stopping, listening etc. So not as much exercise as I’d hoped. The rest of the evening worked though, we did the dishes and I spent some quality time with the hubby.

Something else kind of crazy that happened was that each of my blogs was accepted to rent at other people’s blogs! Oh my goodness! I’d actually become resigned to not getting accepted and so I went willy nilly with my credits and put in bids and my photoblog is renting at Amateur Viewfinder and this blog is at Once Upon a Blog. Not only so but malibubbles (as it seems the author of Once Upon a Blog is called) picked my blog out of about 30! I feel special 😀

This morning I had to get up :tired: to go to church for COW Club setup. It was a little confusing, some people seemed to know what was happening, I did not. Then it got to 11 and we had a band practice so then things were better. Band practice I can do. I also felt much better about the whole week because the practice went quite well. It was funny because the guy I have singing recently did some musicianship stuff so he was reading the music and correcting their singing mistakes and at the Thursday night practice I was saying “it sort of goes like this, just sing whatever.” Really helpful I’m sure! I was trying to be helpful, I think it was for the songs that I didn’t know the exact melody I said that for, how can I help if I can’t sing it!?

Hubby and I were going to play squash today but there was a tournament on at the courts 🙁 Next week or weekend maybe.

Tonight we had pizza and watched Scent of a Woman. Al Pacino, what an actor!

Now for the rest of the weekend to be successful I would like to not forget that we are supposed to be helping with supper at church tomorrow night!

    LOL!

Its OK, you don’t have to call me malibubbles, Sarah is just fine. But thankyou for pointing that out for me,I have just realised my name isn’t anywhere on my blog. It used to be but think it got lost in my recent MT > WP move over.

Also, I too have resigned myself to never getting a rental offer accepted on BE! Its so hard! So many people wanting to rent!

Probably down to the fact that you can rent space on as many blogs as you have credits for but can only offer one space at a time so there is always more demand for space than there is space available. Does that make sense? probably not, I know what I’m on about though, lol!

Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Title Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Titles! I was a sub for @jamesxuereb.me in the Blue Flame Dragons thanks to his sprained ankle; we won first round and came fourth overall!
I did a bunch of judging and officiating, which was really good.
I didn’t place in my individual events, but had a very fun final round of kumite (sparring).
