Vendredi aka Friday

9 June 2006 by kristarella

Today was a bit weird. Overall I guess it was a good day although I felt a bit sad for some of it, annoyed for some and very tired at points.

I saw Mel on the train this morning so we travelled to work together. I actually didn’t fall asleep on the train this morning! I was pretty alert by the time I got to the station. Last night I fell asleep before hubby was in bed, had no awareness of him coming to bed and I slept right through until 15 minutes before my alarm. It was the best sleep I’ve had in ages.

I thought we were going to have grumpiness because I was away sick from work last week and I can’t go next week because of exams. We didn’t though, we read our books and then Mel asked me what book I was reading and I told her about it and it was fine from then on. I made a calendar of the next two months at work so everyone knows when I’m working. Speaking of which I found a site that does cool looking calendar stuff. I used this one because it was free but I really liked the look of printable calendar.

On the bus from the station to work we stopped at the bottom of the street, as we do, then stopped at the red light and then a tiny way up the hill a car wanted to park and the bus pulled up so close that he couldn’t reverse park. The whole thing was ridiculous and we sat there for ages. I suspect that the bus driver was being a prat because this car had come up the side at the lights and gone before the bus. At this set of lights there are two lanes but immediately after the lights on the left are cars parked so you need to get over an usually buses hog the road. In fact, this bus actually went before the green light, after the others went red but before ours was green, yet this car still came up the side. So the bus made the car drive forward until we could get around on the wrong side of the road. It was so dumb. The other car might not have been very smart at the lights but the bus driver took the stupid crown with his performance in the middle of the road. We got to work… eventually!

It seemed like one of those days when nothing was going to work but nearly everything did. Gmail was pretty average, they’re having probs today. I didn’t get to visit all the blogs that visited my TT yet but I will. We went to Chao Praya for lunch which was really yummy. Unfortunately they completely forgot Jun and Yvonne’s orders. They thought they’d been done and put the receipt in the “done” pile but actually they weren’t and by the time Yvonne got her Tom Yum soup I was finished, and I’d tried to go slowly so I wouldn’t finish before they got it! I felt really sick a short while after lunch. I was going to leave work early but I thought I should just not be a wuss and do a bit more work first. So I did, and then I ended up not leaving much earlier than I need to to get to Fully SIC anyway.

I slept pretty much solidly from Central station to home, which was very refreshing.

Fully SIC was alright. I did the memory verse using my hangman thing, actually it’s from TQS quizzes. You write them in XML. We went from one extreme to another, we kept running late this year and not having enough time for the bible study. Tonight we had so much time. I got very frustrated though cos I think that we as leaders weren’t working very well together during the bible study. We need to address that at some point.

Hubby and I finished watching 12 Monkeys that we started on Wednesday. I think that tomorrow I’ll watch Blink.

I also think I will go to bed nowish.
