God works

23 October 2008 by kristarella

I had a brief conversation on Twitter with @niphal today that really echoed in my mind during the event I attended tonight. niphal “There’s probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life.” http://twurl.nl/j5depe Reactions? kristarella Reaction: they can advertise atheism if they want, but I’ve never seen a religious advert on a bus, […]

MYC 2007 – Guidance

22 July 2007 by kristarella

I think many of the things I learnt at MYC can be summed up in the song We Belong To The Day by Michael Morrow. The chorus says: Strong as a mighty rock our refuge in the coming wrath. The heart of the bride belongs to Jesus, Jesus. The earth in its turning stops to […]

COW Club ’07

11 July 2007 by kristarella

What a wacky week! This week is COW Club, the kids holiday club that we do in July. I’m so tired. I didn’t think it would be that bad (the tiredness), but I’ve been a bit stressed trying to make sure things run well every day, that we have things that are entertaining and that […]

Cookie crumbled

18 March 2007 by kristarella

Our washing machine broke… they’re expensive to buy! At least my Pop gave us this one, we can probably afford one more now than we could when we first got married. It wasn’t new so it’s probably had a good life-span. The Vestry meeting was slightly tumultuous. I’m sure it’s been worse. I’ve mentioned before […]

Rest of the weekend

5 February 2007 by kristarella

Sunday night was fairly weird. We walked in the door at church and I was welcomed by Scott asking me whether I’d received an email about doing the bible reading this week. The new roster was done last week but not sent to anybody. So that was a slightly annoying start to the evening, it’s […]

Growth Groups

30 January 2007 by kristarella

On Sunday we had a meeting to organise bible study groups, or “growth groups” as my church calls them at the moment. The lead up to the meeting was a bit funny, with several people asking me if we were leading one and my only response was that we hadn’t been asked. Someone thought we […]

Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Title Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Titles! I was a sub for @jamesxuereb.me in the Blue Flame Dragons thanks to his sprained ankle; we won first round and came fourth overall!
I did a bunch of judging and officiating, which was really good.
I didn’t place in my individual events, but had a very fun final round of kumite (sparring).
