Inbox Zero

20 October 2007 by kristarella

I watched/listened to a Google Tech Talk by Merlin Mann today, Inbox Zero. It was great! I had started thinking, “Do I really need to be keeping all these comments on my computer?” I’ve been staring at Mail, which now has the threaded emails feature enabled (I was so stoked when I discovered it, or […]

Cancer is what now?

19 October 2007 by kristarella

I overheard a woman on the train say “I don’t miss my hair, I don’t feel bad about going bald because it means that the treatment I’m having is working.” It’s nice that she doesn’t feel bad about herself, but it made me a little sad because it’s not necessarily true. I don’t know what […]

What gets thrown in your back yard?

15 October 2007 by kristarella

Do you think about what you throw away, the things you never lay eyes on again? Do you think about the things that get washed away from your sight? Much of it never really goes away. Today, October 15th, is Blog Action Day. A day for us to spread awareness abut environmental issues. This semester […]

Breaking in new shoes

13 October 2007 by kristarella

I had some cute canvas shoes. Very important for a scientist (in training) because you have to wear enclosed shoes in the lab (a pain in summer). Sadly, they had worn right through the sole, I was practically walking directly on concrete (it burns!). I went out in search for new ones. It was actually […]

Bogong Moths

12 October 2007 by kristarella

Inner Sydney is just infested with Bogong moths at the moment. It’s a bit gross actually. There’re all over the halls in the buildings at uni, they’re in the buses and trains. Generally they seem to be trying to get out, but they can’t find the open doors and windows. Some people are inclined the […]

404 blues

12 October 2007 by kristarella

Don’t you hate it when you find yourself at an error page? If you’re linking in from a site and you get a generic error page how likely are you to try to find that page from the homepage? Not very, especially if you have to go to your address bar and figure out what […]

Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Title Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Titles! I was a sub for @jamesxuereb.me in the Blue Flame Dragons thanks to his sprained ankle; we won first round and came fourth overall!
I did a bunch of judging and officiating, which was really good.
I didn’t place in my individual events, but had a very fun final round of kumite (sparring).
