“Not valid”

1 October 2006 by kristarella

Two words that are so sad to my eyes. I hate to see that my pages aren’t XHTML valid but there’s nothing I can do about it, except completely unplug my plugins and not link to places. It’s not actually any of my code that’s invalid, it’s a bit of plugin code on my blog […]

Ported design

1 October 2006 by kristarella

Yay! I just finished porting my new webpage design to WordPress for my blog. There’s a good chance you can see it now, grey with coloured links. I might install the picture titles plugin that converts headings into pictures so that you can have fancy writing. My brother thinks the design is good for a […]

Learning curve

1 October 2006 by kristarella

I spent the last couple of days redesigning my homepage. I thought I might actually use the site and put some things on there, albeit gradually. I wanted to figure out how to do those spiffy sliding menus at the top which I did and I learnt that the order of CSS matters! a:visited overwrites […]

I wish I had XGL

28 September 2006 by kristarella

Disclaimer: Yeah, I know I’m usually avidly against flash and I generally don’t watch videos on people’s blogs but I thought I would try embedding this one rather than just linking to it. XGL is this totally sweet program for X desktops (like Gnome, which is used in Ubuntu and KDE, which is used in […]

Thursday…

28 September 2006 by kristarella

No Thirteen today. I’m too tired and I don’t think I’m up for visiting all those other Thirteens. Last night was good, but late. There was a farewell drinks and dinner for a guy (Dan) in Hubby’s ‘office’ at work (they moved buildings so they’re not all in one office anymore). It was at the […]

Selene

27 September 2006 by kristarella

I saw a fantastic photo of the moon the other day and it inspired me to try and take a photo of the moon. I’ve never been able to for lack of tripod or sufficient zoom on my camera but I probably have both now. Alas, I haven’t been able to see the moon when […]

Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Title Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Titles! I was a sub for @jamesxuereb.me in the Blue Flame Dragons thanks to his sprained ankle; we won first round and came fourth overall!
I did a bunch of judging and officiating, which was really good.
I didn’t place in my individual events, but had a very fun final round of kumite (sparring).

A little book I made from Bunnings paint sample ca A little book I made from Bunnings paint sample cards. It’s going to be for mini paintings and collages. Sometimes it’s nice to start with a colour rather than a blank white page!
