Un-secret women’s business

21 September 2008 by kristarella

I’ve had a David Jones gift card burning a hole in my bag for months. I bought a coat, but after several attempts to wear it, buyers remorse set in and I had to return it. Since then they’ve had nothing I want.

I finally decided that I would try to buy some skin care products. I’d run out of cleanser and my face has been really dry lately. I asked one of the women for help and told her to have a look at my skin. After deducing that my face was indeed dry she proceeded to load me up with samples from Ella Baché (her initial destination and favourite for my needs), Lancome (a brand she trusted and I’d already been using), and Clarins.

Well, it felt like a pretty successful shopping trip, not having spent any money in that store! Also, I think I’ll be set for face stuff for the next couple of weeks at least!

I’m starting with Ella Baché this week. I started with the Gommage Délicat exfoliant, I’m using the Lait Enrichi Requin for a cleanser (it’s nice — clean yet not too dry, which is how those super fresh cleansers can leave you) and I’m not sure what the moisturiser is. That’s okay because I’m not loving the moisturiser. It’s great that my skin isn’t dry anymore, but now it’s shiny… The Ella Baché moisturisers have quite a lot of oils in them, which are supposed to replenish, protect and seal your skin. I feel like I look greasy though, which is not an appealing look. I think the aim is to glow, not shine!

When I’ve finished the Ella Baché samples I’m going to move onto Lancome samples. Do you have a skin care product that you love?

Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Title Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Titles! I was a sub for @jamesxuereb.me in the Blue Flame Dragons thanks to his sprained ankle; we won first round and came fourth overall!
I did a bunch of judging and officiating, which was really good.
I didn’t place in my individual events, but had a very fun final round of kumite (sparring).
