Recommendations

5 August 2007 by kristarella

Recently I’ve had a couple of recommendations, well one was to me and the other I saw recommended to someone else.

The first is madKast. It’s a blog sharing tool that allows people to share your post via a bunch of different methods. It also has analytics to se what is shared, who is visiting your blog, what other places they visit. There’s a cute little video on their site summarising what madKast does.

I’ve implemented it (very easy to do, just stick a bit of code into your code – I’ve put my code in my wordpress footer file), you can see it’s those little green icons next to the post titles. I’m not sure about what it’s done to the aesthetics of my site, there’s suddenly green things everywhere. I’m not really sure how to use it yet either (where to find the analytics, for example). However I’m giving it a go, feel free to leave me feedback on what you think of it.

The other recommendation I saw was for Paidsurveys. You can take part in surveys and focus groups online for money! It seems to be quite profitable. I don’t mind taking surveys and I would like to try it out. It’s $49.99 (why don’t they just say $50?) to join and there’s a 60 day free trial. Unfortunately for me (unfortunate, because I don’t know if I can afford to invest in it) you need to pay the joining fee as a deposit and after 60 days you can get it back if you don’t want to continue . You need to do at least one survey a week, hopefully you’ll make back your joining fee fairly quickly. I have no idea how well the time/money ratio works out, if anyone tried this let me know!

What are your current internet and blogging recommendations?

Thanks so much for installing madKast! We will be rolling out analytics information for you in the coming weeks. Since we’re still an early-stage company, we’d love to have your feedback on the entire madKast experience.

Please let me know if you have any further questions or comments: feedback AT madkast DOT com

    Thanks.

I did a bunch of judging and officiating, which was really good.
I didn’t place in my individual events, but had a very fun final round of kumite (sparring).
