Change of plans

15 July 2007 by kristarella

I was planning on finishing up work at the end of next week and had told my boss as much. After I told him, I got the flu and couldn’t go to work the rest of the week. Then we had COW Club all the week after that.
I was planning on working four or five days the week after COW, which is this coming week, but I received an email on Friday asking me to finish up that day. My boss probably didn’t even know that I hadn’t been there that week because he’s fairly oblivious of what is going on unless someone goes and tells him. He says that they didn’t get funding and can’t pay me. I knew that he didn’t have money, but since he didn’t know how much I’d been working (not much) he wouldn’t really be in a position to assess whether he could pay me. I suspect he’s been hounded by money managers to stop spending money as well.

Anyway, suddenly I had nothing to do next week and the only things stopping me from going to MYC, i.e. my last week of work and getting paid a nice amount before going back to uni and getting paid nothing, were gone. So I called a girl from uni and she checked if I could still go to MYC and I could. So now I’m going to that, although not properly registered, I’ll probably feel outcast when I get there, but it will be okay when I get my name on a list somewhere.

So this is my last post for the week and I won’t get to go on the internet at all! *gasp* 😛

Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Title Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Titles! I was a sub for @jamesxuereb.me in the Blue Flame Dragons thanks to his sprained ankle; we won first round and came fourth overall!
I did a bunch of judging and officiating, which was really good.
I didn’t place in my individual events, but had a very fun final round of kumite (sparring).
