Thursday Thirteen #45

8 March 2007 by kristarella

Thirteen things…

1. I’m really tired.

2. We’ve started watching Heroes. I had no idea what it was, I’d only seen a poster with Hiro on it and I thought it was some kind of faux-reality show. It’s really cool!

3. We had friends over for dinner last night. It was really good. We played some Nintendo and ate dinner and shared favourite You Tube movies. You should check out…

4. Pachabel’s Canon in D – rock version.

5. Also, this guy’s rant about how he hates Pachabel.

6. Amazing beatboxing, flute playing, theme song remixing guy, Greg Patillo, doing Inspector Gadget.

7. He also does the Super Mario Brothers tune.

8. Sesame Street theme.

9. Peter and the Wolf gets a show in as well.

10. I saw my cousin in Hornsby again today. She saw us this time too and we did a wave and smile on the way past. It must be a Thursday thing that she’s in for. Or I just don’t go in at the right time anymore to catch her on other days.

11. There was a whole lot of girls on the train this morning (not the train we were going to catch mind you, that one was running 40 minutes late!). Damn, they were noisy, do they not realise they don’t have to speak at the top of their voice to someone two feet away?!

12. Busy weekend coming up again. Hubby’s first time teaching in Marsfield on Saturday morning, friends’ baby’s baptism and then lunch on Sunday morning. Karate grading Sunday night, church and then dinner at Father-in-law’s after church. Bit scary really, I’m tired now, I don’t know how I’ll cope with another three days of crazy. Hopefully Saturday afternoon will be cruisy.

13. I finally posted my response to the lecture on the web for my on-line graphics course. Now I have to write a short thing about a symbol/graphic that communicates without words. I’m doing the toilet lady – you know, stick figure in a dress. If your area uses that symbol or a different one to depict where the toilet is let me know, it would be interesting to know how common the stick figures really are.

#11 is funny. Young girls are just naturally LOUD! I have a 17 yr old granddaughter and, when they all get together, they talk at the top of their voices, most of the time! We just laugh at them.

I specifically enjoyed #11. I teach middle school and they actually don’t realize. Its amazing how quiet the halls are right after they all leave for the day πŸ™‚ fun list

Hero’s looks like a good show. I am going to rent the series when it comes out on DVD. I didn’t start. I missed the beginning of the season and didn’t want to start halfway through.

Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Title Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Titles! I was a sub for @jamesxuereb.me in the Blue Flame Dragons thanks to his sprained ankle; we won first round and came fourth overall!
I did a bunch of judging and officiating, which was really good.
I didn’t place in my individual events, but had a very fun final round of kumite (sparring).
