Cookie crumbled

18 March 2007 by kristarella

Our washing machine broke… they’re expensive to buy! At least my Pop gave us this one, we can probably afford one more now than we could when we first got married. It wasn’t new so it’s probably had a good life-span.

The Vestry meeting was slightly tumultuous. I’m sure it’s been worse. I’ve mentioned before that there are some issues at our church. The minister gave quite a fitting and reasonable address under the circumstances, it was quite nice. After he did so, we received his report and any other reports, which meant we unwittingly received a report from the wardens that was fairly condemning of the minister’s behaviour. People probably would have wanted to receive the warden’s report even if it was a separate motion. People have been hurt on both sides, it happens when we’re all sinful.

Church tonight was pretty good. I got an invite to Tori’s party (on the same time as mine) we both feel a bit bad about it. Hopefully we’ll both get over it soon. Her parents are coming down for the party so that will be nice.

A couple of people in our bible study are going to be leaving our church. It’s very sad because I admire them both greatly, they are really passionate about Jesus and they’re much more upbeat than I am, they’re also talented and they always inspire me to look at things more positively and to try to be godly. I hope they come to our bible study for a while longer otherwise it’s going to feel very thin. We were on supper at church tonight and five of the fifteen members of our group were there (including us and the two people that are going).

We finished the graphics group assignment earlier. That’s a relief. The person that put it together did a really nice job, it’s very pretty. I got some help from Chris Adams at Culture Design. I sent him an email saying I was a uni student doing a small assignment and could he tell me anything that pops to mind about designing for different cultures. He did, it was cool.

I don’t know how I’m going to get my report done this week. It involves reading papers, which I don’t mind doing but I can never motivate myself to do it. Especially when I have to use PubMed to find the ones I want and then go to the library website to download the full version (because the university pays journals for access). It’s such a hassle.

    Hey Kriso,

I hear that if you’re thinking of being water concious, a front loading washing machine can use much less water than a top loader.

      Cheers Eddie,
I didn’t think that much about it. Someone is coming to try to fix this one tomorrow but if fixing is too expensive we’ll look into front loading.

Sorry to hear about your washer. Ours died last weekend. We have yet to replace it – but we have to soon – the laundry is really starting to pile up around here…

Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Title Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Titles! I was a sub for @jamesxuereb.me in the Blue Flame Dragons thanks to his sprained ankle; we won first round and came fourth overall!
I did a bunch of judging and officiating, which was really good.
I didn’t place in my individual events, but had a very fun final round of kumite (sparring).
