Most of the weekend

5 February 2007 by kristarella

Most of the weekend was great. We went to karate on Friday night. We went to MIL’s to set up her new computer on Saturday morning and we had lunch there too. We went to Chatswood to try to order my MacBook but the resellers don’t really do educational prices. We ordered it on the net yesterday. 😀 On Saturday night we had a bucks and hens party each to go to. That was pretty good; the bride-to-be didn’t have to do any embarrassing things though – I got heaps at mine!

On Sunday morning we actually managed to get up after five hours sleep to go to a karate class at North Curl Curl beach. It was good and different. Afterwards lots of people went into the water in their gi – that would be okay except for getting out and getting absolutely covered in sand. After the class I got my camera out and took some photos. There were some impressive clouds over the land but none over the beach or the water. I wanted to get shots to stitch into a panorama, it may still work but possibly not because just as I got my camera out a large group of people started walking towards me and across the beach for some kind of Surf Life Saving/Little Nippers competition and games. I got some good photos that are going on my photoblog. Hubby had a play too and took photos of kids playing that game where they have to grab the sticks (after lying on the ground facing the other way, they get up and around and run to the sticks). The was some good sand-flying shots.

We were fairly tired for the rest of the day, but we had eggs and watched a couple of episodes of JAG, we never got to having a nap. We probably should have…

I did a bunch of judging and officiating, which was really good.
I didn’t place in my individual events, but had a very fun final round of kumite (sparring).
