Everybody hates Mondays

20 November 2006 by kristarella

I don’t really know if everybody hates Mondays. I don’t remember hating them. Today I get to do something that I should and that are boring but I’ll feel better for it (de-hair my legs, do the dishes, do supermarket shopping).

The weekend was a bit weird. Saturday was good but I kept getting upset about really small things. When it came to cooking dinner I was at a complete loss of what to cook and it was really making me stress. I cooked chicken, I ended up coating it with breadcrumbs and frying the outside and then baking it. I didn’t love it that much. I’d forgotten that I had the ingredients for enchiladas in the cupboard! Oh to rewind and find those ingredients because I love them! Maybe I’ll buy some more chicken today and make them.

We visited hubby’s grandmother on Saturday which was nice. I love her fruit slice! She tried to offload a heap of stuff that she didn’t want or need onto me. I accepted some Christmas present tags and a Women’s Weekly cookbook as well as a pashmina shawl.

We rented some movies on the way home. The Fantastic Four, Interview with the Vampire, Event Horizon, Entrapment and Species III. Species III wasn’t too bad for a 3 movie. Event Horizon was horrific the first time I saw it (it was on TV and I missed the beginning), I don’t know why I had such an urge to see it again, but it wasn’t as bad the second time. The Fantastic Four was fairly typical, quite enjoyable though. Still waiting to watch the others, although I’ve see Entrapment before.

That was just Saturday! Sunday had a whole lot more going on.

We went to Yum Cha, it was yummy as usual. It was a bit harried getting there, we woke up at 11:20 an we were supposed to be there at 11:30! Hubby even tried to blame me for not waking him up, forget the fact that I was aslee and he pressed the snooze button twice! He took his own collapsible chopsticks (not exactly the same as these ones), it was extremely nerdy.

Afterwards we went to Helen and Erns’ engagement party. That was nice. It’s amazing all the people they’re friends with and still friends with, long after I’ve lost contact with those people or people that I’ve seen around but not really spoken to. The cake that they had was totally awesome! I’m not sure exactly what it was but it seems to me that it had a layer of chocolate fudge and then chocolate cream and then chocolate meringue. It was divine!

Then I had a meeting at church for youth group. I was pretty tired and my head was all fuzzy, I was afraid I mightn’t make it home in one piece. I did make it home and I took a nap until church time.

I’ve had a cold since last Sunday. I’m pretty much better except for my nose still running a bit and my ears are quite blocked. I think the right one is infected. I thought it was better this morning but now it’s hurting again.

I love Mondays! They’re great! My only problem is getting out of bed, which I don’t like doing on any day.

But I’m in work now after a long holiday, and I can tell you officially that Mondays are great. No-one expects you to finish anything on a Monday. It’s a day for starting things.

Ok. I’m off to start three different things before lunch.

Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Title Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Titles! I was a sub for @jamesxuereb.me in the Blue Flame Dragons thanks to his sprained ankle; we won first round and came fourth overall!
I did a bunch of judging and officiating, which was really good.
I didn’t place in my individual events, but had a very fun final round of kumite (sparring).
