Turn down the lights, turn up the iPod!

3 October 2006 by kristarella

This is the third time I’m writing a post today. I’m not writing exactly the same things but pretty close. My browser kept having seizures at work, being in a hospital I was able to make it safe until the seizures stopped but I inevitably lost my posts.

The lights in the hallways at work are fixed. It’s a bit weird because I expect them to be dark now, even though they were dark for less than two days. They seem brighter than they were before and given that it’s fluorescent lighting, it’s not a good thing.

The radio was so weird at work today! When I walked in there was something akin to gansta rap playing but later we were hearing circa 1950s musical numbers like Surry With a Finge On Top. A few hours later it was turned off, thus out came the trusty nano.

Today I was given a checklist of my duties at work in an effort to streamline my job and the lab. It was a little daunting, not that the things are really difficult – they’re things I’ve been doing for a year, I’ve just never had so much structure at this job. I’ll be dating the sheets and checking off what I’ve done each week. It’s actually a good thing because I shouldn’t get bored because of a lack of jobs and I’ll have other varying things to do as well. I’ll definitely be blogging less from work which is definitely a good thing, not from my blog’s perspective (if it had one) but from a hard working and honest employee perspective.

If you don’t do so already, or even if you do, check out my photoblog over the next few days. I’ll be posting photos of things that I’ve been talking about recently. I posted a photo I took of the crescent moon, tomorrow I have a better picture of a fuller moon, the next day there’ll be a photo of my cute new shoes. Feel free to comment, even if it’s negative, or constructive criticism would be better than negative comments.

Oh and regards my musings about the moon; from observation of this month’s lunar cycle it appears than the moon does indeed rise in the eastish and set in the westish.

I did a bunch of judging and officiating, which was really good.
I didn’t place in my individual events, but had a very fun final round of kumite (sparring).
