Age has nothing to do with it

Argh, something is wrong with my back. I can’t twist it, I have to try staying straight but then I get tense and uncomfortable. I don’t know what it is, a muscle or a disc, it seems to be quite distinctly on my right side.

What is up with short skirts and leggings? I’ve seen it a lot lately and all I can think is “Can you say ‘Stuck in the 80s’ ?”

Yesterday the bus to the station was called The Pumpkin Bus it was all orange and had pumpkins on it. It looked like Halloween decorations but it said something on the side about getting home safely before turning into a pumpkin or something like that.

I started reading A Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren this morning. I was given it for my 18th birthday and this morning I wanted something to read on the train, this was one of the many books I own and have never read. So far I’m not entirely impressed with it, perhaps because I began it sceptically – I think that my husband at some point said that he’d heard it was a bit dodgy, perhaps because I’m not desperate to find purpose.

It uses quotes from the bible but a lot of them are from The Message, which is one man’s paraphrase of the bible and I don’t think that he really got the essence of each part correct. The rest of the quotes, so far, seem to be slightly out of context. The first chapter is not necessarily wrong in what it says, that the search for purpose doesn’t start within ourselves, what we want and feel, but with God our creator. However, anyone can say something correct at one time and then say something horribly misleading later. It’ll be interesting to see what this book goes on to say.

I did a bunch of judging and officiating, which was really good.
I didn’t place in my individual events, but had a very fun final round of kumite (sparring).
