Thursday…

28 September 2006 by kristarella

No Thirteen today. I’m too tired and I don’t think I’m up for visiting all those other Thirteens.

Last night was good, but late. There was a farewell drinks and dinner for a guy (Dan) in Hubby’s ‘office’ at work (they moved buildings so they’re not all in one office anymore). It was at the Lord Nelson Hotel/Brewery in The Rocks. The beer was excellent, the food was yummy, the coffee was foamy. Everything about it was cool except the walk there. Dan was running a bit late so he was walking really fast. I tried to keep up for a while but then we came across this woman who was looking for the Lord Nelson so she followed us there, so I didn’t feel as bad lagging behind. My legs hurt sooo much! Thankfully they recovered quickly with a cold beer in my hand and leaning against an old beer barrel. It was the first time Hubby didn’t get the steak choice in the alternate meal. I’m usually more than happy with chicken or fish but I had the scampi entree so I didn’t really want more seafood. Luckily he swapped with someone else and we both had the steak with some kind of creme-de-Paris butter and chips. Delicious!!!

The walk back to the train station wasn’t as bad and we made very good timing for trains at Circular Quay and Central. Alas, it was a regular all stops train with fluorescent lights, it was a bit unpleasant but we managed to snooze all the way home. We walked home and pretty much dropped into bed.

The boys were funny, about 5 or 6 of them saved themselves a goatie, now dubbed the “Dan-moe” (as in Dan moustache) in tribute to Dan and his imminent departure. We got a photo of them all together. Hubby might keep his for a while, I don’t mind I liked it last time he had a goatieDan-moe.

Tired today, sleep tonight. Putt putt golf with the youth group kids tomorrow night! I’m looking forward to it.

I did a bunch of judging and officiating, which was really good.
I didn’t place in my individual events, but had a very fun final round of kumite (sparring).
