Thursday Thirteen #23

Thursday Thirteen
Thirteen things I would be doing, or would love to be doing if I wasn’t going away this weekend.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m sooo glad we can get away for a few days!

1. Working on the church website: Gus asked me to design the church website. He has all the functioning stuff on there and actually the template he’s using is quite reasonable. I’m kinda excited and I’m looking forward to putting what’s in my head into code. I have to figure out how Joomla works so that I can put the right tags in their places and so on.

2. Blog reading: I’ve been trying to catch up on the blogs I’m subscribed to but I’m afraid people post quicker than I can read!

3. Going to Fully SIC: I haven’t seen the girls for a couple of weeks. I’d like to see them and make sure they’re growing in their love and knowledge of God.

4. Buying a camera: It’s probably a good thing that I can’t do this one because I’m really excited that I nearly have enough money to buy a digital SLR camera! I actually do have enough but I’m not sure that I have enough to buy the camera and then still be able to buy food and stuff until my next pay. If I can try not to spend too much money from this pay then I might be able to buy the camera after my next pay in two weeks πŸ˜€

5. Legs: Yep, I didn’t epilate my legs and I won’t be doing that this weekend either! It’s okay, they’re not too bad.

6. Blog templates: I’m feeling creative and I want to make some more blog templates.

7. Watch Stargate: We watch the new episodes of Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis on Saturdays. We won’t have access to them while we’re away though.

8. Watch Dr Who: Actually I’ll be doing this in Avoca anyway. I don’t know what it is about Dr Who. They have what would be the silliest story lines sometimes but they still manage to hold my attention. The writing must be good for the whole thing to not come off as completely absurd!

9. Supermarket shopping: I’d be doing this on Friday, we’ll need some groceries while we’re away but I won’t be doing a big week’s worth of food shop like I normally would.

10. Visiting Nan for her birthday: It’s on Saturday. I sent her a card, I couldn’t get a stamp for it and post it yesterday so I put it in the post this morning. I hope it gets there tomorrow. I hope to visit her on Monday, but I don’t think I want to go by myself, maybe I’ll see if Gran wants to come.

11. Blogging: I have a couple of stories to tell from my past that I thought I might share. They shall have to wait.

12. Flickr: I’m torn between the Nikon D50 and the Canon EOS 350D. They both come with two lenses, the larger being up to 300mm and the Nikon is slightly cheaper. The Nikon takes SD cards which our smaller camera does too but CF seems to hold a lot of photos so maybe buying new cards wouldn’t bee so bad. I have an old Nikon so the lenses might be compatible. However the Nikon only has 6.1 MP resolution and the Canon has 8MP. Other than that they are fairly comparable. I’m sure some folks from the Utata group on Flickr would be able to help me decide, they could tell me if they’ve used the Nikon. I know some have the Canon but I think those with a Nikon use the D70 or higher.

13. Reading Thursday Thirteens: I usually do this on Friday and Saturday, since part of my Saturday is still America’s Friday it works out well. I won’t be able to do that this weekend. I’ll get through a couple today. The rest will have to wait ’til Monday. Happy Thursday everyone!

We never run out of things to do.

My hubby just bought him a new digital camera, a EOS30D Canon, but he didn’t get the lens that came with it – got a nicer one. He loves it. So do I, since I get the older Olympus! πŸ’‘

#4…I bought myself a nice camera earlier this year. I spent just over $300 on it. It’s a Kodak and I love it. It’s simple to use and it takes great photos.

#13…I’m hoping to read more T13’s than I have been lately.

Good list! I totally understand about wanting to design templates. I’m just learning how to do so and I spend so much time designing them in my head. It’s like I can’t wait for the kiddo to go to bed so I can start actually getting them into code!

    Happy TT! Mine’s up!

    Hey Kriso,

I don’t get it – you post up the 13 things you want to do this weekend, but probably won’t get around to, and other people do the same, and… then what?

Just discovered your blog (and others) and I feel a bit intrusive – like I’m reading your diary, but I suppose that’s the point.

It’s been almost 12 months since I put something new on my blog, but I could be encouraged to start again.

Does “hubby” blog it up too?
