Thirteen things this weekend.

1. Wedding (Sat 10:30am): my step-brother-in-law is getting married. We’re not that close to them, hubby didn’t grow up with them or anything. It’s exciting all the same and it should be a great day.

2. Amy’s 21st (Sat 7pm): Amy is my best friend so this should be a great party. will also get to see people from high school that I haven’t seen in about a year!

3. Mum’s birthday (Sun 12noon): Mum’s birthday is actually on Monday but we’re going out to lunch on Sunday. Looking forward to seeing my family!

4. Movie (by Friday afternoon): I’m working on a short movie using photos and some writing and stuff with music backing for Amy. I thought it could double as a speech but it’s a bit long so I’m going to make an abridged version for a speech.

5. Hair (hopefully tonight): My hair is looking a bit manky, it’s grown out but it was quite short before so no I have short layer on top but the bottom is getting long. I really want to get it evened a bit so I’m hoping that if I rock up to the salon tonight they’ll have some space for me. The “rock up” idea is wigging me out a little though, I might give in and make an appointment.

6. Nails: I’ve removed the polish from my manicure last Friday because it was all chipped. I’ve buffed my nails and have been taking car of my hands with cuticle oil and moisturiser. I bought a new polish so I’m hoping to use that tonight or tomorrow.

7. Toenails: I need to cut and polish them as well.

8. Legs: I haven’t decided whether I need to or not but I might epilate my legs, I know you all think it hurts but it’s fine, it’s just to touch up the stray hairs coming through after my leg wax last week.

9. Amy’s present: I want to give her a bit more than just photos and movie clips. I’m not sure what it’s going to be yet. I’ll have a look at the shops tonight and hopefully find something. If I don’t I’ll have to go again tomorrow.

10. Top: I’d like to find a nice top to go with my long teal skirt that I bought a couple of weeks ago. I could wear a black lace top I have but it’s short sleeved and I don’t know what jacket I would wear with the skirt, to a wedding anyway. I’m hoping for some kind of long sleeve knit type thing. I think that would go nicely.

11. Mum’s present: again, I have little idea of what to get. Mum likes scrapbooking so I could get something related to that but I did that for Mother’s Day so I don’t want to get too repetitive. I thought maybe a nice romantic comedy DVD.

12. Meet with Loz: I got a message from her while she was holidaying in Italy asking if we could get together in regards to speeches at Amy’s party. I’m a bit nervous about this because she was to be my bridesmaid and there was a big misunderstanding that resulted in her not coming to my wedding. I tried to get us back together and while we’re on speaking terms and able to hang out in a group we have neither talked about what happened, gotten together by ourselves, and she has never, before now, made an attempt to get together. I just hope she’s okay with my movie idea, naturally she’s welcome to say something but I don’t really want to do a group speech.

13. Hang out with hubby: I’ve missed him lately. We haven’t had much together time. We have been out pretty much every night for the past two weeks and while we are sometimes in the same place it just doesn’t feel like quality time. He’s working from home tomorrow to be near me so hopefully we can have a bit of time that feels like “time together”.

  1. You know, I have always heard that buffing your nails is not really good for them — that is what the manicure guy used to always say.

    That’s a huge list — made me tired reading it, lol!

  5. One summer I used an Epilady on my legs and it hurt like … well, you know. But I tell you what, my legs NEVER looked better than that summer. Once you do the first couple times, doing it is a breeze!

    And agreed, I am exhausted looking at your TO DO list! šŸ™‚ I hope you have a LUFFLY weekend, though! |)

  8. ahhhh…there’s nothing like a good mani-pedi! and a trip to the salon!

    good luck on finding a gift for your mom. maybe try a nice blouse! or make her favorite dessert.
