Avoca Beach

9 August 2006 by kristarella

This Thursday night hubby and I are heading up to his dad’s beach house! I’ve been wanting to get away, even for a few days, for many months now and we finally are!

We have season “one” of Dr Who so watching those should give us something to do if we get bored. The cinemas have closed down up there but we didn’t go to them last time we stayed up there. We will probably have to get some groceries so that we don’t have to go out every time we are hungry but I hope we can go out to dinner on Thursday night.

Thorby who organises Fully SIC snapped his Achilles tendon! Apparently he did it playing basketball. It’s a real shame because he was so excited to be playing basketball (he’s got the height) and Cathy, his wife, doesn’t drive. So he won’t be there on Friday night and neither will I. I hope Nat can get the others organised for a good night.

I also got sent for a karate grading so wish me luck! Hopefully by Sunday night I will have my green belt! We’re coming back from Avoca that afternoon so that I can go to my grading. We’d been planning to do that and then if the Sensei didn’t send me then we would have stayed up there a bit longer.

I hope I get all my work done by a decent hour tomorrow so I can leave for Avoca Beach!

Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Title Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Titles! I was a sub for @jamesxuereb.me in the Blue Flame Dragons thanks to his sprained ankle; we won first round and came fourth overall!
I did a bunch of judging and officiating, which was really good.
I didn’t place in my individual events, but had a very fun final round of kumite (sparring).
