Thursday Thirteen
Thirteen names for baby
In honour of Melanie-hot-stuff who’s expecting! No, I am not having a baby any time soon.
Cheers to Denise for image.

1. Nathanael, something about this name just appeals to me. It was the full first name of Nat King Cole and was also another name for the disciple Bartholemew. Hubby won’t let me have this one so…

2. Nathan is good for a boy too. The only downfall is that it might get shortened to Nat which is only really a problem if you think Nat is exclusive to girls.

3. Nicholas, evidently I like boys names starting with ‘n’. I don’t remember meeting any annoying Nicks but I have met a couple of fairly good looking ones and they were quite nice boys so the name is not tainted in any way for me.

4. Isabelle or Isabella, I think this name is pretty and I love when it gets shortened to Isa. Like in the movie When Fools Rush In, and she says ‘Isa’ when a South American accent “eessah”.

5. Jael or Jaelle, I still like this one even though everyone else hates it. I think it’s cool you can find out who she was here.

6. Abigail, I like this name although someone once told me that it was a stereotypical name for a witch. I’m sure that there are plenty of people with this name that don’t practice magic though and I’m sure that people who do practice magic don’t necessarily have bad intentions.

7. Rachael, I just like it. It seems like both a feminine but strong name.

8. I used to want to call a girl Amelia Grace (first and middle name)…

9. A similar name is Amelie. Everyone knows that movie and she is a cool girl! She has beautiful intentions and a lovely way about her.

10. Aurelie is another French name that was in a soapie that we used to watch in french class at high school. I didn’t like it that much then but I’ve really warmed to it. Hubby won’t let me have that one either because it’s “too french”.

11. Jack is a good name. It could be cute for a boy and kinda sexy for a man, a name for all types and ages. I think it was traditionally not an actual name but a substitute for John. I think it can be a name now though. I know a little boy named Jack.

12. Mackenzie, I just kinda like it.

13. Harrison, the most famous being Ford but I don’t think that’s first thing I think of when I hear that name.

I like Jaelle!! I’m so glad that Lil’ Duck’s real name was picked since DH and I met, if we have another I have no idea what they will be called! Happy TT ;).

Those are good names. I have a boys name all picked out… not that I am PG… but if we were to get PG with a girl… it would be LOTS of discussion going on!!!

    Happy TT

I love the name Nathanael, and Nathan as well. We thought about using one of those names when we have a son too, and I loveloveLOVE Isabelle.

    Happy Thursday!

I like this list! I am 9 weeks pregnant, so hopefully if all goes well I will be publishing one of these in a few weeks. Especially once I know if it’s a boy or a girl. I really like the names Nathan and Abigail.

Lovely names and very unusual. If we had children (which we don’t, alas), I’d have named the boy James (after my dad) and Madeline (always loved this name).

And although not a witch, I know quite a bit about magick and witches understand the threefold law – what you do comes back to you three times and/or on three different levels. And the wiccan rede boils down to “harm none” so combine those two and you will see that it is in one’s own best interests to create magick with only good intent. So, if you love the name Abigail, worry not. (I love to read and learn all kinds of things. Can you tell?)

    Happy Thursday.

I’m partial to the name Nathan — it wouldn’t have to be shortened to Nat. Could be Nate.

I like Nicholas, also Lincoln is nice and strong but not horrid.

How about Andrew? It’s a great name. I’ve used it for years. And the nicknames: Andy, Drew, um, I guess that’s about it.

I did a bunch of judging and officiating, which was really good.
I didn’t place in my individual events, but had a very fun final round of kumite (sparring).
