Police vegetables

12 July 2006 by kristarella

I was driving home from bible study last night, I turned at a green light into the middle lane. There were people next to me in the outer lane and a police car with flashing lights but no siren came past me on the wrong side of the road. Of course if I’d known they were approaching I could have been in the outer lane to let them past. If I’d heard them coming I might have waited to turn into the road. Is it okay for them to not have their siren on? I felt like a right dufus not moving over for them but I had barely realised they were there before they were gone.

I’m cooking a roast vegetable lasagna tonight. It’s all a bit intricate because one has to roast the veggies first and make the cheese sauce stuff and then layer it and then bake it. I don’t think that my dish is quite deep enough for all the veggies I have, I might need to squish the layers down. I could serve left over veggies on the side I suppose. Anyway I hope it’s nice because I’ve never cooked it before and my FIL and his fiance are coming over. In light of that I’m also going to bake a cake for dessert; I hope I am anyway, I haven’t checked on all the ingredients yet but I’m pretty sure I have enough for a chocolate cake of some kind. Sadly I didn’t have enough cash for raspberries to serve with the cake, or possibly make a coulis with.

Also need to give the bathroom a quick once over before their arrival as well. I’m so sleepy! Lucky I still have three and a half hours for all this.
