Gross me out!

30 July 2006 by kristarella

Ewwww!

I was a bit tired of sitting at the computer (shocking, I know!) so I suggested to hubby that we play a game. He didn’t want to play Scrabble so I suggested Risk. What I was thinking I have no idea. At this point in time, we’ve had about three turns and I am losing! There’s still plenty of time though. Unless he wipes me out all together.

Why the “ewwww” though right? Well I got the board out of the box and there was some sticky, webby type stuff on it. I thought “Ugh, this looks like weevil web, I wonder how that got there.” I scraped it off, put the board on the table and went away to make tea. Now I’ve reported on weevil troubles before and I thought they were fixed. However, I did come across one lone weevil with some rice a month or so ago, washed the bastard down the sink!

So hubby and I sat down to set up the board, a process which in Risk takes quite a bit of time, and I saw in the middle indent of the board, nicely nestled in the fold were two little worms plus sticky, webby stuff! Grrrrr! What are they doing there? Hello! They’re on the freakin’ box as well! We picked them up with paper towel and squished them in it and threw them away. I was and am still sufficiently grossed out just by their presence. Ugh!

Hubby suggested they were there because of the gingerbread house that’s been next to the games on top of the bookshelf since November. Hmmm, maybe :sheepish:.

Okay, I was reading that entry while eating my breakfast consisting of fried eggs, bacon and grilled tomato. I really should have stop reading and/or eating upon seeing the “eeeww” words at the beginning of the entry. Now, I too, am sufficiently grossed out.

I was trying to eat slightly runny eggs upon reading the words “squish”.

    Blah!

Okay – back to the bacon. Mmmmm…. baaaacon….

Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Title Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Titles! I was a sub for @jamesxuereb.me in the Blue Flame Dragons thanks to his sprained ankle; we won first round and came fourth overall!
I did a bunch of judging and officiating, which was really good.
I didn’t place in my individual events, but had a very fun final round of kumite (sparring).
