Can I go back to bed now?

3 June 2006 by kristarella

This morning I was rudely awoken by my alarm which I forgot to disable last night. So I had to hang out of bed to try to reach my bag that my phone was in and turn it off. I just disabled it for tomorrow. I slept a while longer but by 10 I had to get up. I know, it’s really a luxury to get to sleep that late.

I made Eggs Benedict for breakfast. It worked out quite well. I didn’t curdle the hollandaise sauce and I’d never poached eggs before but they worked too. So that was a yummy start to the day. However, afterwards we had to wash up not only the breakfast stuff but all the baking stuff from yesterday. It was quite large and even though I’d rinsed everything some things were very stubborn. In fact the mini muffin trays are still sitting in water in the sink because by their time I was just too stressed. One of the things I love about doing the dishes is how the steam makes your nose run. I was starting to feel pretty sick from continually sniffing until I gave in and took my gloves off and blew my nose. I had the window open a little so that I wouldn’t get attacked by all the steam but some inconsiderate person was making loud banging noises that were adding to my nearly psychotic state. I was just about ready to go out on the balcony and scream.

I’ve had a shower now and I did a quick wipe down of the bathroom surfaces because we’re having guests tonight. So I feel somewhat better but my head feels quite fuzzy, no doubt due to the snot I was sniffing. I took some cold and flu tablets and that seems to have helped.

On other news I bought some jewellery yesterday. It was very cool because they were just the sort of thing I had been looking for. I bought a pair of silver cubic zirconia studs to go with my cubic huggies, they were half price! I also got a chain link necklace that was also half price. As seen below modelled by me. 🙂

I did a bunch of judging and officiating, which was really good.
I didn’t place in my individual events, but had a very fun final round of kumite (sparring).
