The hills are alive…

27 May 2006 by kristarella

Wow! Today I did a few uncharacteristic things. I tidied my desk. It’s not perfect but it is much better. This action was precipitated by the computer speakers not working so I got hubby to check them out, he had to wade through my desk to do so. He took them apart and discovered that the amplifying part of them had the capacitors leaking so it was broken and not really worth fixing. They’ve done about eight years service so that was good.

So today I also bought computer speakers! This was only slightly out of character because I was really in a spending money mood and I don’t usually spend money when I’m like that. However, I’m very happy to have working speakers now.

The third and most crazy thing I did was to throw out all my church service sheets. You see at church we get these sheets that say what the bible reading is, theyhave prayer points and then they usually have a sermon outline where you can take notes. I usually do take notes because that is how I listen best. Then when I get home I file them away with the good intention of maybe looking at them again one day. Do I ever? No! Of course not. Why? Because I’m a person of good intentions and also one who is good a hoarding things but I’m not really someone of action. Until I took action today and threw them away because I had precious little room in my filing cabinet. From now on I will only keep notes from sermons that I thought were exceptionally good. Hopefully the Spirit will remind me of things that I’ve heard and learnt and I’ll be able to store them in my heart and mind rather than in my filing cabinet.

I did a bunch of judging and officiating, which was really good.
I didn’t place in my individual events, but had a very fun final round of kumite (sparring).
