Friday, lovely Friday

27 May 2006 by kristarella

Thursday night I was sooo tired, I thought I wouldn’t be able to go to work on Friday. I must have had an excellent sleep though because I felt fine when I woke up. One the way to work I started to feel pretty crap and I think I may have a virus because I developed a sore throat during the day. Despite that it was quite a good day. I got a fair bit done at work and we went to Sydney Gourmet Burger for lunch. It was yummy! I’m still disappointed that you can’t get egg on your burger there. It’s just unaustralian to not be able to have egg on your burger!

Fully SIC was pretty good last night. We sung One For Many (the song I mentioned in my TT, number 10) and Blind Man. It was excellent, they really got into the songs and I love One For Many! The bible study felt a bit all over the place. I think it was written well – Elsa did a great job! It’s just that the girls were getting a bit distracted talking about other things and they did a pretty good job of distracting me sometimes too because I feel this need to answer their irrelevant questions because they’re interesting one and I often ask things like that. I felt like there was a bit too much talking in general, too much talking about other things from the girls and too much talking from the leaders about the bible. Rather than asking a question and giving the girls a chance to think about it and possibly form a response, there was more pre-explaining, where as I think post-explaining might be more helpful.

After Fully SIC hubby and I saw X-Men III. It was good. Lots of good effects and the story was fairly interesting. It was a bit disappointing in some aspects though, it was very short – only about an hour and a half, and a few characters that were important in the first movie were hardly in this one. I think in one case they weren’t sure what to do with their powers so they left them out of the battle.

I felt a bit poorly after the movie, very weak and sick. I know I should drink water but the idea makes me feel sick. So I went to bed but I had really weird dreams that weren’t very pleasant, they were expressing my own feelings of insecurity, especially after that lecturer didn’t like my presentation, I feel so inadequate… moving on!

I want to get Underworld: Evolution on DVD. That is a cool movie!
The other week hubby and I were watching Demolition Man. I quite like it but they did the stupidest thing. They dubbed over every time they say “Taco Bell” with “Pizza Hut”. The story goes is that there was an evil (Wesley Snipes, I think) guy and a cop (Sylvester Stallone) and they both got done for murder and the sentence is to be frozen cryogenically then the evil guy escapes. However, ever since the earthquake things have been very peaceful and they don’t know how to catch him so they defrost Stallone and at one point they get invited out to dinner at Taco Bell, all restaurants are called Taco Bell because it was the only one to survive the earthquake. We don’t have Taco Bell in Australia though, so to make it more viewer friendly they changed the Australian edition of the DVD to Pizza Hut. You can see that that’s no what their lips are saying, it’s quite frustrating.

Now it’s Saturday! I like Saturdays.

We do/did actually have Taco Bell…there was one at Bankstown Airport, right next door to the Hungry Jacks…I was there a while ago…but I don’t think it is there now.

I did a bunch of judging and officiating, which was really good.
I didn’t place in my individual events, but had a very fun final round of kumite (sparring).
