There’s a woman that we are forced to deal with at work who is just rude! We sometimes (or possibly often) have problems either with them or with our own stuff which makes things complicated with them – basically things don’t work which is what happens in science more than half the time. When anything goes wrong at all, the smallest of discrepancies she goes on full defensive mode and sends a really narky email saying things like “I don’t know who is responsible for doing these things but…”
Recently they told her to put me on her list for sending emails regarding this lab which is good because I get electronic versions for some stuff rather than having to enter it all in to the computer from paper. However the the most recent problem is something they don’t do electronically – apparently the girl in charge of it “doesn’t do email” – so I have to enter it in from paper and I made ONE little mistake (seriously it wasn’t hard to fix) and she went nuts. She didn’t even start off by saying politely “there’s a discrepancy here could you check it and get back to me” she just went straight into “you guys suck” (paraphrased – she didn’t actually say that).
Luckily I work face to face with nice people who tell me not to worry about her bitchy emails and they will deal with her.
