Things…

19 January 2006 by kristarella

Things that make my life just that little more bearable…

Washing gloves. Doing the dishes is so much more enjoyable with my super dooper washing up gloves. I can have the water as hot as it comes and not burn my hands. When I’m towards the end of the dishes I don’t have to put my bare hands in gungy, old food water. mp3 player. Work, dishwashing, trains, bus rides, walking around uni; all these things are just a little better with some of my favourite tunes. Granted one usually wouldn’t need a personal music player when doing the dishes but due to the design of our unit sound doesn’t carry well which means that the stereo in the living room has to be turned up very loud to carry through to the kitchen.

Rice cooker. I can cook so many more tasty meals, far more easily with my rice cooker/steamer/slow cooker. So far I’ve really only used it for rice. I did try to do a rice and vegetable dish all in one in there which you can do; it was gross though. It really takes the pressure off cooking dinner when I only need to worry about meat and vegies and all you do is put rice and water in the cooker and press start. So cool!

Ready made marinades and sauces. For a similar reason to the rice cooker. It’s easy, takes the stress out, is very tasty. I do take pride in my cooking and I like to cook meals from scratch sometimes but for everyday living when I’m at work or uni or both I just don’t have time to even shop for all the ingredients I need, let alone cook the food!

Mmm, that’s all for now.
Until next time,
“Serenity now!”

I don’t know what I would do without my mp3 player either. I left it in the car today and just the not knowing where it was made me panic, even for a second. It’s pathetic, really.:(

Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Title Had a great Saturday at the GKR Karate State Titles! I was a sub for @jamesxuereb.me in the Blue Flame Dragons thanks to his sprained ankle; we won first round and came fourth overall!
I did a bunch of judging and officiating, which was really good.
I didn’t place in my individual events, but had a very fun final round of kumite (sparring).
