The Grey Lady (that I referred to in my last post) I believe is a reference to The Statue of Liberty, however after writing that post my subconscious must have related the Grey Lady to Daddy-Long-Legs (the spider).
The first night I was away I had a really scary dream (I always do in a new bed) about very poisonous spiders called “grey ladies”. They were breeding in my house1 and we looked them up on the internet to see the best way to get rid of them because they were so poisonous. It turned out they were an endangered species and we weren’t allowed to kill them. Then there were so many and we were looking for them (with the light off!) and one jumped me. By instinct I swatted it, killing it but not before it bit me. Ahhh! Immediately my hand swelled at the site and this weird web thing sprung out, wrapping my hand and paralysing it…
That’s all I really remember, quite disturbing; at least there were no spiders in the room I was in!
1 Not where I live now but where I lived during my first 17.5 years of life. Most of my house based dreams are still set there even though I haven’t lived there for more than two years.
